.IT Domains

Introduced in 1987, Italy’s .IT country-specific extension is quite popular both locally and in the English-speaking world. The reason is that the domain is a pronoun, which can be used for forming imaginative and catchy domain names – write.it, youcanmake.it and so on. This is a way to have an easy-to-learn domain name, so that it will be easier for your visitors to come back to your website or to share it with associates and pals. The domain name extension can also be used for a website, which is related to the technology sector considering that IT is an abbreviation, which is well-known worldwide.

Having in mind that dot IT domains are not provided directly by IT-NIC, the Registry that administers this extension, such a domain can be booked through a third-party provider, such as ours. You can order a .IT domain for a one-year period at a time, and the domains are transferable, so you can move your existing domain over to our firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. Since there are existing 2nd-level Domains that include names of different areas and localities in Italy reserved for local 3rd-level registrations, new names that include geographical regions of any sort are not allowed on any level to avoid any future confusion. We do not support such 3rd-level domains, though, considering the fact that they can be registered only by locals.
