.NAME Domain Name Registrations

Established in 2001, the Dot NAME universal TLD is the only one supposed to be for personal sites only. These domains can include personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other titles people are popular by. At first, just third-level registrations were possible, so if you wished to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already taken third-level domains remained active.

Through our company, you can grab your .NAME domain for a period between one and ten years. You will be able to update the WHOIS contacts, to park your domain, to set up Custom DNS records, etc. You can also transfer an existing domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization key from the current registrar firm and we will renew it when the transfer has been completed. There are no specific stipulations on who can buy a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the idea behind its creation alive, the dot NAME Registry may check who the Registrant is and if there is no relation between the owner and the actual domain, the registration could be challenged.

The .NAME generic TLD is among the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or region with the proper spelling in your local language.
